Giovanni-Battista Derchi besitzt einen Doktortitel und ist an der EHL Assistenzprofessor für Unternehmenssteuerung. Er erwarb einen Doktortitel in Management an der HEC Lausanne und einen Abschluss in Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Bocconi.
Dr. Derchi ist wissenschaftlicher Berater und Mitglied des wissenschaftlichen Komitees der International Academy of Sport Sciences and Technology (AISTS). Darüber hinaus ist er Gastdozent für fortgeschrittenes Management Accounting und strategische Kontrolle an der HEC Lausanne und der SDA Bocconi School of Management. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind die Bereiche Leistungsbewertung, Anreiz- und Vergütungssysteme, Messung und Berichterstattung der sozialen und ökologischen Leistung von Unternehmen; Planungs- und Budgetierungssysteme und Risikomanagement.
