Yong Chen besitzt einen Doktortitel und ist Assistenzprofessor an der EHL (EHL) in der Schweiz, wo er Lehrveranstaltungen zu Marketing und Ökonomie des Tourismus und des Gastgewerbes hält. Seine Forschungsinteressen liegen in den Bereichen Touristenzufriedenheit, Tourismusnachfrage, wirtschaftliche Auswirkungen von Tourismus und Gastgewerbe, Sharing Economy und chinesischer Tourismus im Ausland.


Dr. Chens Forschungsarbeiten wurden in verschiedenen Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht, unter anderem im Tourism Management, dem Journal of Travel Research und dem International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Seine Ansichten über die Sharing Economy, die chinesische Tourismusnachfrage und die Hotelbranche wurden auch von CNN, MarketWatch, South China Morning Post und EHL Hospitality Insights veröffentlicht.
